Ideas for title

Font 1 - This font is one of my favourite font types. It has a destroyed look which has connotations of violence which is linked well to the connotations of rock music. Also it has an almost graffiti look about it as though it has been sprayed on a wall, this has connotations of a youth activity and something youths are suspected of doing. This is good as my Rock music magazine is going to be aimed at the younger generation of 15-21. So they will be attracted to this look. I have chosen to use the black font in stead of a colour as it will not clash with the picture I am going to use as the front cover image. However, I may try and include some colour as I would like to bring in my colour of the house style as soon as possible so that it becomes recognisable to the audience. I also like the shape around the font, as it is not too 'bubbly' like you would expect on a pop magazine and is sharp in the corners so can be attractive to ages between 15 and 21 that I am aiming to target as a market.

Font 2 - This title choice is developed from font choice 1. I am going to use this title choice for my magazine. I have chosen this because after recognising that I could bring the house style colour in immediately with the use of colour in the title I have done this by creating an edge on the image with a purple shadow. I have continued with my choice of purple as it works well with black and continues to bring the contemporary house style I am going for. However is still a harsh colour so compliments the destroyed font I use in this title. I also like the shape around the font as the corners are sharp, so could have connotations of being quite edgy, however has the softness as well to allow it to attract to both male and female. Also because the font is more graphical rather than just a simple, what could be classed as boring, font it will create a less formal look for the magazine which will attract a younger audience as they can be seen as lazy therefore will not like reading as much.

Font 3 - Font 3 again has a destroyed look that could link well to the Rock genre I am using as Rock artists have a reputation to be violent and destroy things as their music is loud and harsh. Instead of using the curved and pointy edged shape as above I have used one that is all pointy. I think this is quite a masculine shape as it is quite sharp and box like. As my magazine is aimed at both men and women I feel that the shape was not right for this market as it is too masculine and buyers initially see the front cover and this is where they base their first opinions therefore I must ensure that it is immediately obvious as to who the magazine is aimed by using shapes and colours that will attract them. I do not feel this has portrayed the target market correctly.

Font 4 - I have used a font that looks as though a marker has written it therefore will attract a younger audience like the rest as markers are used in school environments. It also looks as though it is not typed therefore again creates a more informal look that younger people will be attract to as it converges the audience and writer with a more casual relationship. I have used a rectangular shape around the font, as the font is rectangular aswell so this compliments it. I have used the purple shadow again around the rectangular box to bring in the house style however it looks very simple and not very artistic and younger people have more creative minds so may not be attracted to this as much as font 2.
